Each book contains thousands of layered drawings that represent the various labors that the man in the song undergoes to win his sweetheart's affection.
The bookcloth has been distressed to look like used denim.
Hubba whaaa?
The embedded text tells the specific labor represented on each page. In this case the man joins "11 seperate denominations." The drawign and text is layered 11 times, 1 for each denomination.
